The best donuts can be found at 11248 S Michigan Ave, in Chicago IL. The name of the place is Old Fashioned Donuts, the glaze donuts are truly the best. The have Texas style donuts that are the size of a plate. You can look through the window and watch as the donuts are being made.

Hey, how about donut suggestions for those of us in middle America. We are driving from Texarkansas to Little Rock north to Memphis to Springfield Illinois to Champagne Urbana Illinois through Chicago, or alternately through Rockford Illinois and finally to Milwaukee. Surely we can celebrate national Doughnut Day along the way today or even later. How about it? Would we be forced into Dunkin’ or Krispie just to join the festivities?

The worlds best dounts…. are at “The Worlds Best Donuts” shop in Grand Marais MN.
The shop is located in a town on the North Shore of Lake Superior, about 50 miles from Canada. They open at 6am and close ‘when the donuts are gone’.
After a week of camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) the prospect of a fresh donut is heaven!
